THE DESIGN OF A CONVINCING CHARACTER REQUIRES THE ABILITY TO CREATE CHARACTERS WITH STRONG PERSONALITY AND VISUAL INTERESTS.

In this workshop, we are going to explore the ways in which one can create a character design. We will focus on how a personality affects its shape, and how the shape says something about the character. We will also discuss the importance of designing a functional character, both for Live Image, or 2-D and 3-D animation.. This process encompasses a multitude of techniques and guidelines to define the visual themes of the design, definition of shapes and silhouettes, poses, facial expression and most importantly:

Communicate how the character will move and behave.
It will be exposed from: initial sketches, the preliminary design and the final process.
