Walter Montivero

Specializing in contemporary ceramic sculpture and glaze creation, the artist produces work that is three-dimensional, eclectic, and timeless, drawing influence from Japanese *wabi-sabi*, Concrete Art, and Process Art. The glazes are original creations—inspired by Eastern techniques such as Shino, Seto, Tenmoku, and Hagi—and are crafted from natural and mineral materials to express a beauty that is simple, profound, and natural.

He began his training in Buenos Aires, Argentina, at the School of Fine Arts, where he discovered his affinity for materials and sculpture. He is an International Ceramics Instructor (International Academy of Ceramics, Geneva) and pursued advanced specialization at the Condorhuasi Institute of Ceramology, where he also served on the research team.

She has worked as an educator in both public and private institutions, coordinating projects such as Urban Murals for the Government of the City of Buenos Aires’s Cultural Program. In Barcelona, ​​she continues to facilitate cultural center activities and founded Satori Atelier, a space dedicated to ceramic research and creation. Additionally, she studies Japanese lacquer (cashew and urushi) with Hiro Kanazawa and received an Honorable Mention at the 16th Esplugues Ceramics Biennial for her work “Cactus.”

Their work is part of collections in Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, the USA, France, Italy, Switzerland, England, Norway, Finland, Spain, Japan, and Korea.
